For the 50th Anniversary of its iconic subsidiary Hot Wheels, Mattel is wheeling out plenty commemorative cars to celebrate. Some of the original die-cast models from its seminal year, 1968, have returned to the shelves for enthusiasts to collect. Now, Hot Wheels and Mattel have partnered with Bookmaker Assouline to create the ultimate companion to your collection, the Hot Wheels coffee table book.

The Hot Wheels book is a compendium of the die-cast car company’s history, which spans half a century, and 5 billion cars sold. Vibrant imagery and previously unknown secrets from the Hot Wheels archives color the pages of this 300-page automotive anthology. The book features 200 illustrations of the classic American toys, the Lilliputian muscle cars that drove our youths, along with a foreward from racing legend Mario Andretti. This limited edition treasury goes on sale June 1st, and you might have to rush to get it before it’s gone.

Purchase: $50
