At this point in time, internships are more like a modern day apprenticeship. You show up, hustle, eat ramen, and hope that someday in the future it’ll all pay off. Some talented and lucky folks actually get a chance to turn out some pretty impressive work during this stage of their careers, however. Just check out Darby Jean Barber’s Honda Synergy Concept.

A space age romper that looks like it has the ability to take on tough trail at high speed, Darby designed this as a nod to Honda’s long history of building rugged off-road vehicles. With a low profile glass dome, aggressive stance, and a unique suspension placed at the top of the body, this vehicle is as much an homage as it is a bold proposal for the future of Honda’s off-road racing.
