Honda Rugged Open Air Vehicle Concept
Looking to build a burly off-road truck, Honda has dropped a concept vehicle that looks like it could give the likes of the Ford Raptor and Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 some competition. Presented at SEMA, this brawny vehicle is referred to as the Rugged Open Air Vehicle Concept and looks like a mash-up of the Honda Ridgeline and the Pioneer 1000.
Taking a look at the vehicle, it seems to have a heavily revamped Ridgeline body and suspension. The heavy-duty truck has a Pioneer-style steering wheel and doors along with a custom bed and tailgate. Taking a look inside, the interior has an instrument cluster and footwell area that are Ridgeline-based along with Civic Type R seats made with waterproof material for all-weather toughness. Honda didn’t reveal any engine details, but a safe assumption would be that this off-road adventure vehicle runs on a 3.5-liter V6. We imagine this off-road behemoth would be a blast to drive in the desert so we have our fingers crossed it will actually be produced.
