Overland Expo is fast approaching, and if you’re like us, you’re raring to get a look at this year’s new outdoor-ready gear. Lucky for us, we’re getting a preview of what Honda is bringing to the event: a blacked-out, beefed-up version of their Passport SUV made specifically for off-road adventure.
Officially called the Honda Passport Adventure Lifestyle Project, this version of the midsize sport utility vehicle gets some pretty major upgrades — aside from the obvious visual upgrade to a matte-black colorway. Created in conjunction with JSport, the off-road upgrades include a lift kit for more ground clearance, Nitto RidgeGrappler tires on exclusive Jsport KMC XD 18″ wheels, a Plateau modular roof rack with a Roofnest Sandpiper rooftop tent, new sidesteps, and Baja Designs lighting on the front and back. Pair all that with the Passport’s available i-VTM4 torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system and suddenly this ride has gone from being worthy of soccer moms to something better suited for a bushy-bearded mountain man.
