Honda Crafted A Dirt Bike Lineup That Meet CA’s Strict Emissions Laws

Earlier this year, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) announced a series of strict new emissions regulations as a follow-up to its 1994 Red Sticker standard. Banning the use of any off-road motorcycle 2022 and newer without a Green Sticker (aka “competition only” models), it’s effectively made most of the available offerings illegal to ride on the state’s public lands. In other words, the dirt bike market just got a hell of a lot smaller.

Clearly, Honda has been anticipating that such a day would come, as it’s just unveiled an entire lineup of Green Sticker-certified bikes. Spanning the entire CRF family, it includes everything from the tiny 50cc CRF50F all the way up to the CR250F and even the road-legal CRF450RL. So, no matter if you’re a kid looking to rip his first tracks or an experienced ADV rider well-steeped in trail-riding expertise, there will still be a Honda for you. However, should four wheels be more your speed, the Japanese automaker has a wide range of ATVs and side-by-sides that are compliant with the regulations as well. The cleaner, greener CRF bikes are available now starting at $1,599.
