There are multiple HOKA athletes who are taking part in the Project Carbon X enterprise with their minds set on breaking the 100K world record, which was set last year by Nao Kazami with a time of 6:09:14. Part of the sportswear company’s 100K initiative, the HOKA One One Carbon X Running Shoes are here to help ultra runners chase a lofty goal.

The shoes are constructed with max-cushioning Meta-Rocker soles, carbon fiber plates, breathable single-layered mesh, and Lycra tongue gussets for excellent stability. They also benefit from PROFLY X and CM Betty Fly Foam covers, along with flare injected rubberized EVA. Several athletes, including Jim Walmsley, Patrick Reagan, and Mike Wardian will be sporting the Carbon X footwear during the 100K race in Folsom, California on May 4 in an attempt to make history. Set at $180, the HOKA One One Carbon X will be available on the company’s website starting May 15 and will have a wider release on June 1.

Purchase: $180
