Hardcore: The World’s First POV Action Movie
If you’ve ever played a first-person video game and though to yourself, “now this would make an awesome move,” your wish is about to be granted.
Hardcore is being called the “world’s first action film shot entirely from the hero’s perspective.” Using mostly GoPro cameras and custom-built rigs to stabilize the video, director Ilya Naishuller shot the film in Moscow with the help of an international cast and some seriously gutsy stuntmen. The film, starring Sharlto Copley (District 9, Elysium) is about a newly resurrected cyborg who “must kick a lot of ass” to save his wife from the clutches of a psychotic villain. Principal photography has been completed on the film, but Naishuller says they need $250,000 to complete post-production, with the CGI team and sound designers especially deserving.
