Han Solo Blaster Made From LEGOs

We’re not sure if J.J. Abrams has picked out all of his props yet for Star Wars: Episode VII, but we’re putting our two cents in for Harrison Ford to use this LEGO DL-44 blaster in the new movie.

It’s a full-size replica, painstakingly made by the hands of LEGO wizard Julius von Brunk who used the LEGO Digital Designer program and more than 400 pieces. While a squeeze of the trigger doesn’t send laser blasts at Greedo or anything, it does fire up the blaster’s lights and sounds courtesy an Arduino Uno board. As if building a blaster out of LEGOS wasn’t hardcore enough, von Brunk has also posted an in-depth tutorial if you’d like to build your own. He’s also trying to convince LEGO to consider making this project an official kit, and that effort needs 10,000 signatures to move onto the next step.
