Hammerhead Bike Navigation System
The market is already filled with navigation products to get you safely from Point A to Point B, but the Hammerhead bike navigation system is something a bit different than what you’re used to.
Most GPS devices require riders to look down at a small screen, or wear headphones to hear audible directions. This ends up distracting the rider, and can make the task of bicycle commuting more dangerous than it already is. Hammerhead connects with your smartphone, and displays a series of intuitive LED light patterns as directional indicators, guiding you to your desired destination in the safest manner possible. The LED lights can easily be seen through the corner of your eyes, meaning you never have to take your eyes off the road. The app will also let you meet up with friends, adjust the indicators to your liking, share routes, and in the event of lost cell signal (an all too common problem for some areas), the Hammerhead will save the route to your phone, letting the on board compass guide you the rest the way. The device even includes a bright light for night riders. The brand recently raised all the funds needed to make this project a reality, and plan on releasing the Hammerhead in June 2014. [Purchase]
