Half a century ago, in 1969, Ford made racing history when their GT40 supercar won its fourth consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Now, to celebrate that monumental occasion and pay tribute to the vehicles themselves, the folks at Safir GT40 Spares and Alberta, Canada’s Hoodoo Guitars have specially designed and produced this collection of official, limited-edition GT40 Victory Series Guitars.
All told, only 400 of these guitars will be produced — 100 for each historical race car — to be sold to the public, done up in the same livery as the vehicle they are meant to represent. But the brands took things even further, going so far as to design the body shape of the guitar to mimic the same curves found on the GT40, including the iconic hood scoop. On top of the iconic styling, these instruments are also fully-functional (meaning they’re not just show-pieces), with maple wood neck-through bodies, dual humbucker pickups, and a unique back-mounted cable input. Whether you’re a lifelong guitarist wanting the ultimate driver’s instrument or you just appreciate a solid piece of functional automotive-inspired art, these ultra-limited $5,995 guitars are a must-have.
