PDW Griffin Skeleton Knife
No man should ever hit the backcountry without a good survival knife. And while we’ve detailed a ton of great options in the past, the team at Prometheus Design Werx looks to be added to that list with the Griffin knife.
This fixed blade “skeleton” style knife is more than just a simple cutting utensil, it’s a multi-purpose tool built for survival in the wild. The knife is water-jet cut and machined from high quality, premium grade blade steel Bohler M390. Each Griffin features the brand’s proprietary Strikeback feature running along the spine of the blade to strike ferrocerium rods. This CNCed multi-bevel and arc ensures you don’t have to use your knife’s main cutting edge to get a fire going. And that’s not all this bad boy does either. There is both a combination pry tip and cat’s paw nail puller situated on the end of the handle, tools that will help you do everything from break glass and open paint cans to shucking oysters. Full length jimping across both sides of the handle provide unrivaled grip, and the drilled holes reduce the overall weight of the knife without sacrificing strength. The Griffin will set you back $289. [Purchase]
