Green Lantern Residence In San Antonio, Texas
Much cooler than Ryan Reynolds in spandex, the Green Lantern Residence in the Alamo Heights neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas, is an ecologically-minded, 4,000 square-foot home that’s obviously quite pleasing to the eyeballs.
Architect John Grable handled the design, putting a big emphasis on new sustainable technologies, while still trying not to alarm the neighbors with gobs of 22nd century tech. There are plenty of 21st century features though, including photovoltaic panels, LED lighting, a green roof system, and greywater harvesting, which uses water from bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and washing machines for lawn irrigation. The floor plans are wide open here, with large windows, wall-to-wall sliding doors, a spiral staircase, and outdoor pool rounding out this very attractive package.
