Great Lakes Cabin By The Backcountry Hut
In an effort to bring modular home kits to the masses, many companies have opted to test their hand at the prefab business — but few do it quite as well as The Backcountry Hut Company. For their latest endeavor, they’ve teamed up with Leckie Studio to introduce a beautifully reimagined home kit by way of the Great Lakes Cabin.
The frame of the space utilizes an intriguingly simple design, forming what could only be described as two-thirds of a traditional construction. An angular roof, complemented by a skylight and single protruding metal chimney draw attention to the interior of the simple home. The entryway is adorned with cascading vertical wood that shares an alcove with a selection of windows, all of which run the full height of the frame. A solitary passageway from the dark wood exterior leads denizens to the tranquil dock — a perfect foreground for the variety of fall colors found in the distant forest.
