Grand Seiko’s upper echelon architecture is certainly nothing to scoff at — bringing unrivaled aesthetics and innovative construction to buyer’s for over half a century. So, to mark both the 20th Anniversary of the watchmaker’s illustrious Spring Drive technology, as well as the 50th birthday of Nissan’s iconic Japanese sports car, the GT-R, Grand Seiko has released the commemorative SBGC229 watch.

The SBGC229 pays Chomage to Nissan’s influential platform, calling upon the iconic “Bayside Blue” colorway of the original Skyline 2000 GT-R as the primary inspiration for its blue ceramic case and white dial. An unmistakable GT-R anniversary emblem adorned in 18-karat yellow gold has been inlaid atop the Seiko’s oscillating weight, complementing the watch’s numerous automotive details. To give the wristwear an authentic feel, the company has opted to supply a GS-stamped crown, chronograph function, and titanium internals for the 50th Anniversary variant. The handsome timepiece is available for purchase via Grand Seiko’s website for $21,000, with only 200 examples slated for release.

Purchase: $21,000
