Automobiles and timepieces have gone hand-in-hand for about as long as they’ve existed — both in regards to the complexities of their engineering and their intertwined culture (especially when it comes to racing). So we weren’t surprised to hear that, as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Nissan’s legendary GT-R race car and the 20th anniversary of Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive watch, that this gorgeous tribute timepiece was being released.

Done up in the GT-R’s iconic “Bayside blue” colorway, this tachymeter watch bleeds race-ready styling. But it’s also a masterful bit of design on its own — boasting a ceramic outer case, high-intensity titanium inner case, dual-curved sapphire crystal, and handsome crocodile leather strap. The gorgeous exterior also hides beneath it an equally-impressive proprietary Spring Drive automatic movement with an accuracy of ±0.5 seconds per day, a 72-hour power reserve — which can be seen through the watch’s sapphire exhibition caseback — and an 18k yellow gold GT-R anniversary logo flourish. A brilliant tribute to two legends of engineering, this chronograph can be yours for $21,000.

Purchase: $21,000
