An evolution of utility clips used by firemen, carabiners are widely-known as climbing tools. But they’ve made their way — at least stylistically — into the world of everyday carry as the perfect means to carry your keys and keychain accessories without having to deal with overloaded pockets. And the folks at GPCA have just initiated the next step in the evolution of the keychain carabiner by adding a wealth of utility.

Styled in a similar fashion to climbing carabiners, including a spring-loaded gate and knurled security ring, this easy-to-use tool is perfectly suited to day-to-day keychain usage. But it also hides away 9+ tools that up the utility to the stratosphere — like a locking knife blade, integrated bottle opener, Philips and flathead drivers, a pry tool, a box cutter, and even self-defense knucks. As if all that’s not enough, it’s also available in aluminum, stainless steel, or nearly-indestructible titanium. Back the project on Kickstarter now starting at just $29.
