Woodworking wizard Mike Warren has unveiled his guide to creating glow tables by filling in the naturally formed voids in pecky cypress wood with photoluminescent powder mixed with clear casting resin. Mother Nature gets the assist as the powder charges up in sunlight before yielding that cool blue glow when night falls. Warren says the key to the whole shebang might be the pecky cypress; it’s regular cypress that’s been naturally damaged with a fungal growth inside causing sections to rot. Just remove those pockets and you’ve got the perfect home for stuffing in the resin and glow powder. [Instructables]
