Glenlivet 1862 Whisky-Infused Coin

The vaunted ‘Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862’ is reputed to be the oldest whisky in the world. An entire bottle of this ancient amber spirit would cost you a pretty penny. A literal pretty penny — more specifically, a Glenlivet 1862 Whiskey-Infused Coin from Lux-coin — costs a fortune, too.

The Whisky Coin from Lux-coin is a gold coin from Tuvalu, a Polynesian island located at roughly the halfway point between Hawaii and Australia. The coin features a small bead at its center, containing a drop of the rarefied liquid known as the Vatted Glenlivet 1862 whisky. The back of the coin’s design depicts the malting and bottling process by which whisky is distilled. The two-ounce gold coin is one of three featured in Lux-Coin’s Spirit Series, all of which contain a drop of one of the world’s oldest, rarest liquors. These coins clock in at around $9,300.
