Glass Sled Hotel In Finland

Category: Living

The cliche real estate mantra of location, location, location applies to a whole lot more than just residential and commercial buildings. Take, for instance, the glass sled hotel in Finland.

Purpose built for vacationers looking to experience the Northern Lights in all their glory, these tiny 8 by 14-foot structures are located far from light pollution outside the remote Finnish town of Kilpisjarvi. Along with their remote location inside the Arctic Circle, the cabins boast a fully transparent roof and side walls for a totally unobstructed view of the night’s sky. While small, these cabins do offer some creature comforts like a gas heater with thermostat, large and comfortable beds, bathroom, and table for resting your hot coco. Don’t want to spend your entire vacation in a small cabin? Snowshoes and kick-sleds are made available for scooting around the Arctic tundra. Only three of these cabins are available for renting, each with room enough for two guests.
