Genois Sail Cloth Bean Bags
Despite what you may think, the bean bag chair wasn’t left behind in the 80s with acid washed jeans and Cabbage Patch Kids. It’s true, there are still some in use, and what’s more, we’ve found some high-end ones made out of sail cloth, as in sailboat cloth.
Dvelas’ Génois – named after the large triangular sail placed in the bow, used mainly in regatta cruises – are outdoor lounge seats made from recycled sail fabric in Spain. The fabric is known for becoming tense when the seat is used, and thus takes on a more rigid back, making for a more comfortable kick back. If you’d like to share the pleasure, the Génois Cheslón leads to the extension of the bottom to allow an extension of the legs, making it a sail cloth couch. [Purchase]
