Though many in the States may not be familiar with them, Geely Auto is one of China’s most accomplished car manufacturers. And once you see what they’ve cooked up with their new Vision Starburst concept, you’ll begin to understand why.
The Geely Vision Starburst charts a path forward in the company by fully embracing their futuristic “Expanding Cosmos” philosophy. The inspiration for the car comes from the joining of cosmic material to form stars, as the concept attempts to seamlessly fuse its interior and exterior — as well as car and driver. The car has a unique, twisted profile with sharp lines jutting in unexpected directions and an abundance of colorful LED lighting both inside and out; a design inspired by stellar rays. The ambient sound and lighting change depending on the car’s current state and environment, offering a more intuitive experience for passengers. A number of design quirks like scissor-style suicide doors, illuminated wheel arches, and a parabolic grille that’s enveloped on three sides by an unbroken line of light make for a radical design — but one that really works. We certainly won’t mind if this is what the cars of tomorrow look like.
