Game of Thrones Season 4 Visual Effects Reel

One of the reasons Game of Thrones is such a rewarding viewing experience is its universe; a very believable smorgasbord of people, places and things. So if you’d like to keep it that way and maintain that illusion, do not watch this video.

The “Game of Thrones, Season 4 – VFX Making of Reel” features before and after shots of the visual effects involved with creating Westeros and its beautiful castles and cities. Are there really such fantastic structures and tens of thousands of extras walking around Northern Ireland, Malta, Iceland, and other locations where the show is filmed? Nope. The VFX experts at Mackevision show off how much of the magic gets digitally inserted, like that massive Titan of Braavos statue. Now it’s easy to see why they win Emmys.
