Gallery House in Pereira, Colombia
GM Arquitectos brings us the magnificent Gallery House, an environmentally sound home that looks like it was designed for the ultimate season of the The Real World. Thankfully, MTV has never set its sights on Pereira, Colombia. This 500-sq.-meter (about 5,382 square feet) head-turner was built on a hill, so there’s plenty of natural ventilation, and with the dining room cascading into the pool area, this house also seems destined for a Jay Z video.
This region of Colombia is known for its warm weather and abundant bamboo, so watch out for any hungry packs of panda bears. The French windows are designed to generate a nice mix of indoor/outdoor air flow, and the white-on-white color scheme is meant to showcase the natural green and artworks on the property.
