G-SHOCK’s Python-Inspired Watch Helps Save Wildlife & The Environment

Even with its extensive history of limited release collabs, G-SHOCK continues to find new names to feature on its dials. And although those picked are often among pop culture’s brightest stars or biggest labels, G-SHOCK also has a humanitarian side — since the 1990s, the brand has been working with a number of environmental organizations on annual special edition models.

For its latest collaborative watch, G-SHOCK has teamed up with Wildlife Promising to give its iconic MT-G series a slick serpentine makeover. Inspired by the African Rock Python, it comes with a brown, black, and gold snakeskin pattern that can be found on the band, case, and bezel. But that’s not all — it also sports a bright red second hand that’s meant to match the color of the snake’s tongue, as well as an indicator hand that mimics its triangular-shaped head. On the back of the watch, the case reads “Love The Sea And The Earth” in reference to G-SHOCK’s environmental initiative. As with the rest of the MT-G series, the MTGB1000WLP1 includes Bluetooth time calibration, 200M of water resistance, and a Tough Solar charging system, amongst a long list of other functions. Available for pre-order starting November 24th for $1,300.
