Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis House

We may never know whether or not Androids dream of electric sheep. One thing we can agree on, is that Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis house, up for sale in Los Feliz, California, is a dream of a home. The Ennis house, which appeared in the 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner, is hitting the market, and for a meager 23 mil, you can live in a piece of architectural and cinematic history.

Atop the hills of Los Feliz – locals pronounce it los FEE-Lace – stands one of the most iconic architectural residences in America. Built in 1923, the Ennis House was the largest of Wright’s textile block designs, which offer a palatial, somewhat ziggurat-ish look to the facade. In fact, the design was based on ancient Mayan holy places – a motif Wright explored in other works throughout his career. Specifically, the block designs are emulous of Puuc architecture in Uxmal. Its most famous Hollywood role was as the apartment belonging to Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) in the Ridley Scott classic, but the distinctly beautiful house has been used in numerous other films, including The Karate Kid Part III, Black Rain, The Glimmer Man, The Replacement Killers, Rush Hour, and on TV shows such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Purchase: $23,000,000
