For twelve years now, Four Roses has released nothing but limited runs and special editions. Perhaps that’s because they’ve been focusing on finishing their $55 million distillery expansion. But now that the project is finished, they’re ready to get back to what they do best. And they’re kicking it off by adding their legendary Small Batch Select Bourbon to their permanent offerings.
Set for an initial offering exclusive to Kentucky, New York, California, Texas, and Georgia — but with plans for a much wider release — this whiskey is crafted from six unique recipes and designed to mimic the flavor of their 130th Anniversary Small Batch (a release that earned them a “World’s Best Bourbon” title at the World Whiskies Awards). The bourbon is also bottled at 104-proof and boasts non-chill filtering — meaning it retains the oils and flavors imparted by the distilling and aging process that would otherwise be stripped. Available now at the Kentucky distillery and set to hit shelves elsewhere soon, this is a release no whiskey lover should miss. Pricing is not yet announced, but it’s expected to be in the $50-$60 range.
