Folding Sled

We learned a long time ago that the winter doldrums can easily be snapped with an invigorating run down a tall snow-covered hill. But how many times will you be willing to schlep your sled back up that hill for a 15-second thrill? Whatever number you were thinking, the Folding Sled will increase it.

Max Frommeld & Arno Mathies, British buddies who’ve already had success with the Folding Boat, now have turned their talents toward some winter fun. With a smart folding mechanism and no loose components, this sled quickly transforms into a compact easy-to-carry shape; perfect for going back up that hill with or stacking in your trunk. The seat of the sled is made from a durable and recyclable engineering plastic and CNC-cut, while the skates are steam-bent from locally sourced ash wood. Each component is crafted by Graf Schlitten, one of Switzerland’s oldest sled makers. [Purchase]
