Floating Motors Is Transforming Classic Car Designs Into All-Electric Watercraft

Have you ever looked at a Jaguar E-Type and thought, “It’s cool and all, but I really wish I could take it out on the water,”? If so, then designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini has the vehicle for you with his latest project, Floating Motors.

Floating Motors creates unique watercraft based on the designs of some of the most iconic classic cars ever produced. The boats vary in size in structure, but all use electric motors for propulsion. The nascent brand is currently offering models based on the Fiat 500 in either a catamaran or hydrofoil setup, along with catamarans inspired by the Mini Cooper, Porsche 550 Spyder, and E-Type. The latter, dubbed the La Perla, is the most premium model to date, with a carbon fiber hull, twin Torqeedo Jet Drive motors putting out 270 HP, and a starting price of $220,000. Upcoming models include designs based on the VW Bus, Mercedes-Benz SL300, and even the General Lee (sans Confederate flag, thankfully). You can head over to the Floating Motors website now to put down a deposit on whichever model floats your boat.

Purchase: $30,000+
