In recent years outdoor rain gear has become increasingly breathable and waterproof while managing to come in ever-more lightweight packages. Fjällräven’s all-new High Coast Hydratic Series wonderfully demonstrates this trend, affording ample ventilation and equally stellar weather protection.
This two-part collection is comprised of a lightweight minimalistic 2.5-layer rain shell jacket with a rip-stop outer fabric layer backed by Fjällräven’s recycled polyamide Hydratic Membrane. The final half-layer is comprised of a printed pattern liner that adds durability, along with some subtle style points. This 2.5-layer system aids in keeping moisture and body vapors away from your body while still shielding its wearer from the wind and rain. Produced in four colors and weighing less than 0.7lbs, the High Coast Hydratic also gets a premium two-way zipper, zippered side-ventilation ports, zippered hand pockets, an adjustable hood with reflective decals, and is packable, fitting into its own hood. Only available in black, the hiking pants boast the same 2.5-layer construction, as well as 3/4-length side ventilation zippers, Velcro calf and leg adjustment points, and a drawcord-equipped elasticated waist. Available now, the Fjällräven High Coast Hydratic Series is priced t $175 for the pants and $225 for the jacket.
