Two of the oldest and most respected outdoor gear brands have just gotten together for a limited edition collaboration. Introducing the Filson x Danner Grouse Boot. While the two companies have their own distinct story, both Filson and Danner have deep roots in the Pacific Northwest. Filson was founded in Seattle right at the tail end of the 1800s in order to outfit prospectors during the Klondike Gold Rush while Danner moved to Portland just after starting in the midwest to better reach their main customers; loggers and outdoorsmen. Since those early days the two companies have changed a good deal, but they’ve never strayed from their mission of building high-quality gear right here in the States.
All of this history made it a no-brainer that the two would collaborate on a work-ready boot. The upper is made from a combination of Danner’s full-grain leather and Filson’s iconic waxed tin cloth fabric for the side panelling. For added waterproofing and stability, the boots also feature a GORE-Tex lining, Danner’s stitch down construction, and the super sturdy Vibram Sierra outsole. Only 375 of these have been made, each featuring a one-of-a-kind co-branded tongue stamped with both Danner and Filson’s logo. Get ‘em while you can because we can’t imagine they’ll sticking around for too long.
