Released in late 2019, Filson’s original Service Boot wonderfully exemplified the Northwest operation’s MO, delivering timeless aesthetic designs backed by ultra-hardwearing materials and heritage-quality construction. And Filson has now revised the Service Boot for the upcoming season, calling on a combination of oiled-smooth and roughout leathers to create in even more durable piece of Fall and Winter-ready footwear.
Borrowing visual themes from vintage standard issue combat boots, the Service Boot 2 maintains its first-generation predecessor’s silhouette, Vibram outsole, and Goodyear storm welt stitching, though now sports contrasting rough and oiled-smooth thick full-grain, weatherproof leathers. The boot is also equipped with a roughout leather heel counter and composite shank to help optimize stability while also furthering the rugged piece of footwear’s ageless appearance. Triple-stitching at key stress points allows for robust durability while a gusseted tongue helps to mitigate water-entry. The product also packs a suede-lined interior and, like the first iteration of this military-inspired boot, the Service Boot 2 is expertly crafted in Portugal. Available now on the brand’s website in men’s sizes 8 through 13, the Filson Service Boots 2 carry is priced at $368.
