Over the last few years, mobile outdoor-friendly Bluetooth speakers have become increasingly common, though the same trend has yet to occur in the portable projector space. That may soon change, however, as a recently-launched Kickstarter campaign looks to be offering a genuinely game-changing portable mini projector affording ample durability and genuine high-definition picture quality in an incredibly compact form.
Built around an impact-resistant all-metal housing, the FILMATIC features a DLP projector display, an IPX6 rating, built-in horizontal and vertical auto keystone correction and auto-focusing, and 30” to 120” projection size in either 108p or 4K resolution. Packing a USB-C-rechargeable 5,000mAh battery that affords 2.5 hours of battery life, the FILMATIC uses Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and Android 8.0, allowing you to download any of more than 5,000 apps, including the key staples like Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube. What’s more, this rugged little gadget can use its built-in speakers or projector light to also act as a Bluetooth speaker or 300-lumen camping lantern. The FILMATIC mini projector is currently available on Kickstarter starting from approximately $340, with shipping scheduled to commence in August of 2021. As of the time of writing, it’s also already surpassed its target funding goal by more than seven-fold, with a full month remaining on the clock.
