In terms of geography, the coastal Italian town of Portofino is known for its quaint character and charm as a popular tourist destination along the country’s northern Mediterranean coastline. As a race-ready GT, the Ferrari Portofino is a drop top V8 beauty that boasts an elegant yet sporty allure about her – a tribute to this beautiful coastal town.
We say this because under the hood here is a 592hp turbo V8 capable of hitting 62 mph from a standstill in as little a 3.5 seconds and a top speed of just under 200 mph. Ferrari also decided to up the engine’s efficiency with the help of new pistons, con-rods, and a new intake system design. Additionally, extra care was taken to ensure a comfortable on board experience thanks to a 10.2” touchscreen infotainment system, a new steering wheel, 18-way adjustable seats, and a passenger display. A new wind deflector also cuts air flow inside the cabin by 30% when the top is down as well as reduces aerodynamic noise. The official debut for the Ferrari California T replacement is slated for September’s Frankfurt International Motor Show where it will be unveiled in true luxurious fashion.
