Fender X Cuervo Agave Stratocaster Guitar
The mad scientists behind Fender’s Custom Shop have a habit of making some truly inspired and off-the-wall instruments and accessories – like their Old Ironsides amps made from U.S.S. Constitution leftover wood scraps. But no matter how many strange and formidable project they tackle, they keep managing to come up with new ways to impress. As is the case with their latest release, the Fender x Cuervo Agave Stratocaster guitar.
You read that correctly, Fender teamed up with the folks at Jose Cuervo to built a guitar out of agave – the very same plant used to make tequila – including the instrument’s two-piece body, neck, and fretboard. But don’t let the strange build material fool you, this gorgeous instrument still plays just as well as any other custom Fender guitar, thanks to the master craftsmanship behind it and the signature Fender chrome pickups (which pair perfectly with the other chrome hardware upon it). And while the guitar is certainly the highlight of the show, we’re also pretty amped about the custom case it comes in – which also has spaces for a bottle of tequila and a pair of sipping glasses.
