While ultra-realistic racing sims are nothing new, the ongoing global pandemic has fostered something of the perfect environment and scenario to thrust simulated motorsport competition into the mainstream like never before. In response to the growing trend, a growing number of elite automotive marques and race outfits have recently been tossing their respective hats into the racing sim ring, with the latest company to do so being BMW Motorsport, which has partnered with fellow Bavarian outfit, FANATEC to deliver an exact replica version of the flat-bottom steering wheel used in BMW’s actual M4 GT3 race car.

An even more impressive follow-up to FANATEC’s exact BMW GT2 replica wheel, the new M4 GT3 model features a trick eight-layer forged carbon fiber main construction, supplemented via dual action magnetic forged carbon paddle shifters, rubber grips shrouded in a carbon over-mold structure, a 1” OLED display, a traditional four-way D-pad hidden under a backlit Roundel, 14 dimmable and programable RGD LED-backlit push buttons. IP65-rated, this official BMW Motorsport product also sports a quick-release hookup and is CAN bus compatible, as well as working with Windows PC, PS4, and PS5. Pricing and availability have yet to be revealed, though more information can be found via the link or video below.
