Eviation Alice All-Electric Private Plane
If we could, we’d be traveling all around the world in a private jet. Alas, we are not wealthy. But, in this hypothetical, we’d feel a lot better about our choice of transport if we knew it wasn’t helping to destroy the environment on top of being terribly frivolous. That’s where Eviation’s Alice comes in; it’s a private plane, sure, but it’s also all-electric.
A member of NASA’s on-demand mobility program, Eviation just unveiled the prototype for their groundbreaking aircraft at the 52nd International Paris Air Show. And it is an impressive specimen, indeed. Alice has an impressive range of 600 miles per 980 kWh Li-Ion battery charge and a maximum speed of 270 knots – that’s roughly 310 mph. This is achievable thanks to her all-composite structure, uniquely efficient airframe, and trio of pusher propellers (the main one mounted to her tail and one on the end of each wing). While this private aircraft isn’t going to take you around the world and one fell swoop, it’s certainly a more economical and environmentally friendly way to get you, eight of your friends, and two crewmen from place to place in style and comfort.
