Everyday Carry: Slate

The concept of a ‘clean slate’ derives from the traditional use of chalkboards (or “slates”) in a classroom setting. By wiping the existing information off the boards, students were able to start over new. For many of us, our everyday carry is akin to those slates, in that they are the foundation upon which we make ready to tackle each and every 24-hour period as they come. As such, we are firm believers that you should load your pockets with a collection of gear that both represents you as a person, but also will give you the best chance of handling anything thrown at you in the course of your day. The following pocket dump is a prime example of one such collection of everyday carry gear.

Big Idea Design Ti Pocket Pro Pen

With many EDC pens, there are a few ink cartridges at most that are compatible. This one from Big Idea Design, however, works with more than 80 different cartridges and refills – thanks to its clever auto-adjusting design. It’s also built from titanium, is twist-operated, and fits snugly in just about any pocket.
