We’ve made it through another tough year. By our calculation, that is reason to celebrate. And while the holidays and New Year’s festivities have already come and gone, we’ve reached back to draw our inspiration for this week’s pocket dump from those happy times. This complement of shiny everyday carry gear is definitely on the flashier side of the spectrum, but it’s also extremely well-built and carefully considered – meaning you could carry all of it daily or mix and match it into your existing complement of EDC gear. After all, don’t we all deserve some new gear for the new year?

Fisher Space Pen Bullet

Small enough to fit in just about any pocket, but expands into a perfectly balanced full-length pen, the Fisher Space Pen Bullet is an EDC wonder. Even better, on top of its small form and portability, it can also write upside-down, underwater, and in zero gravity.

Maxx & Unicorn Pill Keyring

Made in the USA, this uniquely shaped, locally-sourced, solid-brass keyring can hold well over 12 keys (you know, in case you’re a janitor), is laser engraved, and features a hexagonal threaded closure to ensure that anything attached stays on through thick and thin.

Purchase: $30

Nagao Higonokami Brass Friction Folding Knife

Modeled after the classic Japanese folding blades of decades passed, this lockless knife features a solid brass engraved handle, a blue paper steel 3.5″ blade, and a tang that doubles as a deployment thumb stud. This knife is as classic as it is handsome.

Purchase: $50

Prometheus Lights Beta-QRV2 Flashlight

Boasting an output of up to 85 lumens over three brightness settings, a runtime of up to 55 hours straight, multiple battery chemistry compatibility, and a quick release keychain attachment, this isn’t just a solid EDC flashlight – it’s one of the best ever to have been made.

Purchase: $69

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph Watch

Flashy wristwatches are pretty easy to come by nowadays. But finding one that looks good, features a reliable Swiss movement, is suitable for actual scuba diving, and has a major name like Tag Heuer backing it up is much harder to find. This watch features all of the above, plus a unidirectional bezel, luminous markings, a sapphire crystal, and an automatic movement.

Purchase: $3,200
