Everyday Carry: Fine

Category: Everyday Carry

In the modern era, the term “fine” has an interesting connotation. More often than not, saying that something is “fine” is dismissive and practically an insult, implying that it is alright, forgettable, and/or satisfactory at best. Historically, however, the term is much more complimentary and desirable. For instance, fine china is considered to be amongst the best dinnerware in the world. Fine dining, similarly, represents the pinnacle experience in the culinary world. Why this definition hasn’t stuck quite as much as the more dismissive one, especially outside of the food world, is beyond us. But this week, we’ve chosen to turn that connotation on its head. The EDC loadout you see here isn’t just alright, forgettable, and/or satisfactory. It’s fine in the truer definition — the kind of collection of pocketable gear you could be proud to carry both for its stylistic and functional attributes.
