Evergoods Crossover Backpacks
There are a lot of bags on the market that are designed to be the “toughest,” “most extreme,” and/or “ideal for hardcore athletes and outdoorsmen.” But how many of us really need a collection of hard-use task-specific bags? Very few, we imagine. Rather, your average outdoor and everyday carry enthusiast just needs one really stellar multi-functional pack. And that’s what Evergoods is offering with their pair of Crossover backpacks.
Created by co-founder and former Head of Product at GORUCK, Jack Barley, and former member of Patagonia’s advanced R & D team, Kevin Dee, Evergoods is looking to deliver the most versatile and ergonomic USA-made bags for what they call the “normal guy” – a group of which they count themselves a part. Available in two forms, the 24-liter urban-focused Civic Panel Loader and the 30-liter outdoor-friendly Mountain Panel Loader. Both packs offer top loading, side access, full-access opening, and easy on-body access. They’re also built from weather- and wear-resistant nylon, have space for up to a 15″ laptop, and are hydration pack compatible. They also differ in some ways – for instance, the MPL features compression straps and a waist belt perfect for hikes, but the CPL is lighter with a more city-friendly silhouette. They will retail starting at $285, but you can back them on Kickstarter now for as low as $209.
