Epic Snorkeling Croc Portraits by Ricardo Castillo

It’s almost shark week, and that means the internet is going to be flooded with shark pics and videos. But a less appreciated aquatic terror, the crocodile, deserves some of the limelight, too. Ricardo Castillo, who was actually snorkeling off the coast of Cuba in hopes to capture some cool shark pictures, has captured some amazing stills of the other dangerous oceanic beast, the crocodile.

Crocodiles have the strongest bite out of any animal on earth, so getting so close to them isn’t recommended. Castillo, on the other hand, is incredibly crazy brave. But Castillo’s pictures — the ones capturing the fear-inducing croc — turned out brilliantly, showing the beast in his natural mangrove habitat.
