Let’s not split hairs: we’d be happy to even get to ride in a private jet even once in our lifetime. So it seems silly to be critical of any example of such a luxurious form of travel. Having said that, it is irrefutable that, in the world of personal aircraft, Embraer’s Manhattan executive jet may just be the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen.
Inspired by the Art Deco styling of New York City in the 1920s and ’30s, the Manhattan (which is based on the brand’s Lineage 1000E jet) is a near perfect mashup of modern technology and superb design. The exterior harkens back to a finely tailored pinstripe suit. Inside, however, the luxury and style are taken to the nth degree. From the mahogany wood panels, brass and gold trim, and mural of the Empire State Building, no detail is overlooked. And it isn’t just the walls either – the Cloud Club luxury lounge features a gorgeous bar, retractable bar stools, vintage sconces, and a mohair/lambskin couch. There’s even a six-person dining room, a panoramic loft window, and brass light treatments throughout the aircraft. But this kind of luxury comes with an equal price tag and you can expect to pay somewhere in the $80 million range.
