It’s been over 30 years since Disney’s blockbuster Tron hit the big screen. Still after three decades, the Tron Light Cycle remains one of, if not the most popular silver screen motorcycle of all time. And now’s your chance to finally own one.

Under the hood of this bike is a 96-volt, direct-drive motor paired with lithium batteries and a computer controlled throttle for maximum precision. The design team set out with the goal to recreate the Tron Light Cycle from the movie, complete with the blue lights, wide tires, and hubless wheels. So how did they manage to do away with any chains, belts or driveshafts? Franco Sbarro achieved this engineering feat by using an internal electric motor to power the 2-wheeler. The bike also features spring-preload front suspension and rigid rear suspension, along with front and rear hydraulic brakes. The 2011 custom electric motorcycle has no reserve, and is expected to fetch around $40,000 when it hits the auction block on Saturday, May 2nd. [Purchase]
