Ready to truly go off the grid? Sorry, 36 hours without checking Twitter doesn’t count. If you’re looking to seriously get away from it all – in an egg-like shape – the Ecocapsule is calling your name.
This is a portable house that’s quite small (2.55×4.45×2.25m/4.5m) but quite complete, in a minimalist kinda way. There’s a warm bed, running water and a hot meal—what else do you need? The Ecocapsule comfortably houses two adults and features a built-in kitchenette with running water, flushing toilet and hot shower. It’s powered by a built-in wind turbine and an array of solar cells, while the dual power system and high-capacity battery provide enough power when there’s not much solar or wind activity happening. Its spherical shape is designed for the collection of rainwater and dew, with built-in water filters turning it all into drinkable H2O. The Ecocapsule is in the functional prototype phase right now, with pricing to be announced later this year.
