Dyson’s Latest Vacuum Uses A Laser To Find Dust That You Can’t See

Have you ever been vacuuming and thought, “You know what? I wish my vacuum could shoot lasers.” Well, apparently James Dyson has heard your pleas, as the latest Dyson vacuum cleaner — the Dyson V15 Detect — does exactly that.

The Dyson V15 Detect utilizes an eye-safe green laser that’s precisely mounted on the Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head to project a blade of light 7.3mm above the floor and angled down exactly 1.5° from the base of the brush. The laser is able to show tiny particles that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye, ensuring that you’ll never miss a spot vacuuming again. But the vacuum’s tech doesn’t stop with the laser. The Slim Fluffy cleaner head’s anti-static carbon fiber filaments nab those tiny particles and pass them through a piezo sensor, which measures the size and amount of what you’re picking up and displays its findings on an LCD screen. The sensor also uses that data to automatically adjust the suction power, making sure that your vacuum is always adequately equipped for the job. And just for good measure, the Dyson V15 is also the most powerful cordless vacuum you can get. Wait… is cleaning supposed to be fun?
