Holding down offices in both the USA and Costa Rica, imminent is an architectural visualization firm with a proclivity for penning conceptual home designs and hotels that are set in nature. So when the multinational outfit was given complete creative control regarding the setting of its latest project, the “Dwelling Pod” or (“D-POD”), imminent opted to create a modern cabin set atop a rock formation in the woods.
Boasting a silhouette inspired by elements borrowed from automotive design, the Dwelling Pod was created through a collaboration with San José, Costa Rica-based architectural firm, Grafito Design Studio, which designed the building while imminent was responsible for the environment, styling, and interior design. Raised just off of the rock formation on a pair of stilts, the sleek, round-edged rectangular dwelling is consists of a single story with floor-to-ceiling windows on the front and rear faces and an open floor plan with a living room with built-in bookshelves and an island-equipped kitchen area that’s separated from the bedroom via a small bathroom.
