9 times out of 10, a movie’s trailer makes the film look spectacular. But how often is it really accurate? Maybe, what, 25%? We’re hoping that logic works in reverse this time with the new preview for Dumb and Dumber To; a movie we really want to love, but based on these two minutes and 30 seconds… ehh.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are back as the bumbling buffoons we first chortled and snorted at in 1994, with original directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly in the mix as well. There’s plenty of energy, bad haircuts, and slapstick, but at first glance, it doesn’t appear to have that ’94 magic going for it. But as we said, trailers are rarely precise tools for measuring a film’s final quality. We’ll find out when Dumb and Dumber To hits theaters November 14. We do love that title, though.
