Mall of America? Ha. That’s cute. Check this out: Some ambitious planners in Dubai are looking to create the Mall of the World, a virtual indoor city if you will, and the details are wilder than anything you can find in Spencer’s. Yes, that includes the edible thongs.

For starters, we’re talking 48 million square feet of air conditioned space with more than four miles of high-end shopping. Also on tap, the world’s largest indoor theme park, 20,000 hotel rooms, and hospitals with a focus on medical tourism (we’ll let you know what that is once we figure it out). Also in the mix, waterfalls and a cultural celebration center. So yeah, the world’s largest mall at some 8 million square feet. Can you imagine the size of the Brookstone this place is gonna have?
