A trip to Dubai, with its desert heat (the average low in August is 86 degrees) and draconian laws on things like homosexuality and wearing shorts in public, is a tough sell for the average open-minded, cool-breeze-lovin, shorts-wearin dude. But talented filmmaker Rob Whitworth has made it look like nirvana with his stunningly shot and masterfully edited short film, Dubai Flow Motion.

We’re not exactly sure what hardware or software he uses here, but it’s spellbinding to watch as one scene morphs into the next, showcasing the natural and man-made wonders of the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. From Whitworth: “My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people.”
