Sleeping out under the stars is great, but it’s an activity that is almost totally confined to the summer months. Or at least tat was the case before lodge owner Raniero Campigotto found a way to accommodate stargazers well into the winter with this climate controlled ‘Starlight Room’.
Located just north of the Northern Italian town of Cortina D’ampezzo and a mile high in the Dolomite mountain range, this little wooden cabin offers occupants a clear look out into the mountains and up into the winter sky. Set on a pair of skiis (don’t worry – they’re fixed to the ground) the enclosure fits a wide bed that can be angled to better enjoy the view, an audio setup for listening to tunes, and grappa (why not?). The little cabin will cost you $330 per night. [Purchase]
